As I approach the 6 month mark, I thought I'd share this picture.
My dear friend Caitlin, sent this to me. I think it's totally appropriate!
Countdown is on! Come onnnnn October! Can't wait to meet the little princess that kicks me constantly. I'm hoping she's nicer on the outside :)
Life is what we make it... always has been... always will be.

Queen Bee, Honey
Bees, I've got the Bees*.
Yesterday as I was watering my flower pots, which is a shocker in and of itself, I noticed one of our bushes was darker than normal. As I looked closer, I freaked the F out calmly walked away.
After some research and some helpful hints from people on Facebook, we learned that more than likely it's the bee colony relocating the queen. Which apparently is an amazing thing.
Not in my backyard, it's not.
I guess I should be flattered that they chose my yard for their temporary (God, let's hope it's temporary) castle. I told Tony I wanted to see her. He assured me that she is not wearing a tiara and carrying a wand, so my interest dropped a little.
For the mean time, Margo is going to the bathroom in the front yard. I can just see her curiousity getting the best of her while sticking her entire face into their hive..
Here's to hoping they find their permanent home soon.... and it's not under our deck.
I assure you that having the Queen Bee, is not the Bee's Knees.
*bonus points to whoever gets the Friends reference.

A Birthday & Bocce Ball
We had my family over to celebrate my mom's birthday on Friday night. Drinks, dessert and games. Never a dull moment with my family. That's why I love 'em.
They're a bunch of competitive, game loving, loud and perfect people.
I purchased glow in the dark bocce ball a few weeks back, thinking that our new yard is perfect for this game. And it was.
However, little did I know how my mom and her sister would flip this family oriented game toward the dark side. I should have known...

Mood Changer
So my phone was stolen by a Pizza Hut employee this weekend. I'm still so pissed about it and have been fuming all weekend. Karma is a bitch. That's what I keep telling myself. Every time I look down at my ol' beast of a Droid slide out keyboard phone that I had to re-activate until I decide to buy another iPhone for $400, I keep saying 'Karma is a Bitch, PH employee'.
Then last night, a whole tire fell off/busted off the back of our riding lawnmower as Tony was finishing up the yard. Someone is going to have to come pick it up and put a new axel on it. (do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?) This doesn't really directly effect me, but when your husband is pissed, everybody's pissed.
And our new dishwasher doesn't dry things. It's being fixed, but I'm adding it to the list b/c I've heard bad things happen in 3's. Are we done yet?
I was telling Margo yesterday about how I needed an attitude adjustment.
I come into work this morning and this is what I see:

This might be my most favorite saying ever...

Margo Post
It's been awhile since my precious pup has had a blog post all to herself*. And we all know how much girlfriend loves attention. Just ask anyone who walks through our door. Anyone except the security system people, then she turns all scared and timid. Great timing, be a little wimp to the only people who know our freaking alarm code.
Doesn't this look like a face who is super excited to share her attention in a few months?
I don't think anyone asked her how she felt about the situation. Rude.
We did find out that she is choke hold tolerable though.
I'm sure that will come in handy.
*So it really didn't end up being all to herself. She's gotta start sharing at some point!

Hiring?
Ever since I found out we are having a girl, my bank account seems extra low.
It's rough, this shopping for a baby girl.
Because when I run across things like this:
I literally have no control.

Karma
I realize I'm not yet a parent, and have no idea what's about to hit me in the face when I'm responsible for another human being come October. However, there is one thing that bugs me and I just can't get over it.
Prepare yourselves, I'm going to sound extremely vain right here.
Disney characters on clothing bother me.
Gasp, I know. Send in the firing squad.
Now, I love Aladdin and Beauty and The Beast as much as the next person, but I am not a fan of it plastered all over kid's clothes. I feel like I'm in a Disney world gift shop and can't get out.
I know down the road, I have a lot to learn, and I'm sure my little girl will be dressed from head to toe in Dora the Explorer to avoid a tragic meltdown sooner than later. So someday I will eat my words and I'll have this blog post to blame.
But for now, you can imagine my pouty face, when I unpacked a box of diapers I had bought and saw this:
Karma??
Do ALL diapers have cartoons on them?
I really have a lot to learn.

Poem
Here's my sweet grandpa's poem for my birthday. He does it for everyone's birthday and it's my favorite part of any family get together. My poem's usually consist of booze and this one is no different.
Thanks Grandpa!!
And thanks to the rest of my family for celebrating with me last night. I'm so blessed to have an amazing family!

Another year older... another year... wiser?
Well, I'm not sure about being wiser, but this is the first birthday since oh I don't know say 18 that will be spent sober. So does that make me wiser? Or just pregnant?
Next year is the big 3.0. so I'll just have to celebrate a little harder for lost time.
Over the years, I think I've rubbed off on my husband with gift giving. He used to make me wait until the actual day to open any presents. I usually make him open his gifts whenever they are ready to be opened. I just get so excited to give stuff to him! Well, this year, he told me that he had my present on Tuesday and asked if I wanted to open it. I said I'd wait until my actual birthday because I figured he'd make me anyways. Not 5 mintues later, he's bringing it into the kitchen saying 'I want you to open it.'
Twist my arm....
Now, there might have been an email sent out with a few options on diaper bags I've had my eye on, but he totally took the reins and picked one all by himself. He has good taste. He picked my favorite.
Damn, things have sure changed. From hand bags to diaper bags.
And then he gave me the meanest card. Ever.
My mouth is still drooling.
The inside says 'Have Fun Today in December'
Which I promptly corrected him that I am having the baby in October, and that will soon be followed by a giant glass of vino. What is this waiting until December nonsense???
So CHEERS to myself and a sober birthday.
I will be spending my evening in a church parking lot*
Cue the violins....
*Tony's BBQ competition is this weekend. In a church parking lot. I'm not just going to hang out in a church parking lot. I'm actually really excited - the BBQ is one of the best weekends of the summer. Hoping for the same results as last year!

Alright, Alright
I'm getting semi-harrassed by a few people to post a picture of my belly. Something that I am not fond of doing.
So if you read my blog, consider yourself lucky (or not). You will not be finding said pictures on Facebook. That's just my personal preference, I'm not knocking any expectant mothers that choose to show off the bump via social media. Apparently, growing a child also makes me use words like 'knocking'. ??
This picture is from this morning. I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. Almost half way there. Praise Jesus.

Little Rascal or Little Princess
Today's the day.
Does the babe have a stem? Or no stem? (That's a horrible analogy, but that's what my dad says)
Fingers crossed that the little one cooperates.
Guesses are pretty mixed from what I've heard, but I'm thinking boy and Tony's thinking boy so we'll see how good of parents we are starting out to be....

Remember Me?
Anyone remember me? I was trying to set the record for longest lapse in posts. Did I win?
In my defense, I've been busy. No seriously.
For starters, we bought/finished building a house.
In a day. Which was a huge shock... and relief. But that meant we would have to crash my parents house for a couple of weeks until our new house was finished. And thanks to the snow storm in May, we were delayed a bit.
Oh and we are expecting a little babe in October...
So ya know, just a few small things going on in 2013.
More to come. I'm just impressed that I remembered how to post on here.

Hmmmm
Seriously, I almost didn't remember how to create a post on here! It's been a long time... yada yada yada. I know.
I really never make New Year's goals, but I'm thinking mine should be to actually blog again. Obvi.
Let's start with a few pictures that you've missed. Unless you are my Facebook friend or follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then these are all a repeat. Speaking of Instagram, I just started it and am obsessed. I know I'm probably the last one on that train, but I also just got an iPhone. That explains a lot, right? Welcome to the millinium, Callie.
Nevermind, apparently I can't upload pictures anymore. Wth? Any suggestions? Really Blogger, I know it's been a while...
So this post was pointless, but I'll be back with pictures as soon as I can figure it out! It's not giving me a browse option under the picture upload tab. Help!

And another.
I haven't found the culprit yet, but someone enjoys after hours at the office. I can't imagine too many people drink Liberty Ale, so my investigation will start with that.
Good morning to me.
Good morning to me.

coming into work on a Monday morning to this?
Either I have the best co-workers, or the cleaning crew came from Mexico.
Happy Monday to all!

5 years
Oh hello there, it's almost the end of August and I haven't blogged since the 1st. It's not that I don't have things to blog about or time to do it (work), it's just that I don't have the motivation to do it lately. I do better when people harrass me about being a crappy blogger. So here you go harrassers...
So what's been going on in the Line household? Well, we had our 5 year wedding anniversary. FIVE years! Holy moly. We should have like 4 kids by now... or something like that.
Instead we chose to spend our special day celebrating in style, our way.
I woke up super early and couldn't go back to sleep because I had received Tony's gift in the mail the day before and he wouldn't let me give it to him early. I am so so so bad at keeping surprises when it comes to giving gifts. Since it's our 5 year, the 'traditional' gift is wood. I was at a loss for a long time and then my mom suggested a lady in GB who does amazing carvings. Hence the final product:
She could not have done a better job. Powercat- check. Dental Medical sign- check. Wedding date- check. Margo Largo- double freaking check.
We couldn't get over how much detail is in it. If you look at it in person it is unbelievable.
We started off the morning by dropping off Marg at school and heading down to the plaza for coffee and shopping. We went to Starbucks, ordered a coffee and muffin and went to sit outside. This was out of my comfort zone. I just can't imagine doing that on a regular basis... it's like people go by themselves to get coffee, sit outside and read to themselves to show everyone else that they're reading. It's odd to me, but whatevs.
I have the best husband ever, he let me pick out my own gift. Seriously, that could have been dangerous, I really need a new car*. Too bad there aren't any dealerships on the plaza.
We walked around for awhile before strolling into Tivol and I knew then exactly what I wanted. A ring for my right hand. I wanted something that I could wear everyday and it would always be a reminder of our 5 year anniversary.I bring you gorgeous David Yurman:
I actually opted against this exact one with the diamonds b/c I fell in love with the 2-toned one that I don't have a picture of at the moment.
Did you know that dogs can go into Tivol?! I just laugh at the thought of bringing Margo into a jewerly store. Or any store for that matter.
Next on our list was heading out to the Legends. We were starting to get hungry so we stopped at Granite City and had beers and an appetizer. Then we went to the casino. What? Not a normal anniversary celebration? It's right up our alley. We love us some roulette.
After a couple of hours, Tony was up and I was only down $5, so we decided to jet back to our house and clean up for dinner later on. Somehow we found a 2007 bottle of cab in our stock and excitedly popped it open since that was our wedding year.
Our ride came to pick us up for dinner and we continued our way to The American down in Crown Center. I loved everything about this restaurant and it was worth every penny. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and of coarse the wine was amazing.
Tony had arranged for 2 glasses of champagne to be brought to us when we sat down. Then we ordered a bottle of wine. The waitor came back and filled up our champagne and I could tell Tony was confused. He had only ordered two glasses, but sitting behind him was a BOTTLE of champagne in a chiller.... Oops. Guess we were drinking that too.
I had the artichoke soup, heirloom tomato salad, halibut, scallops, and nickers bar. All of it was fantastic.
I'm a big Top Chef fan and I've been watching Top Chef Masters this season so I knew Debbie Gold was a contestant from Kansas City and worked at the American. I was talking to our server about it and the next course that came out was presented by Debbie herself. I about died. She was so friendly and just a doll. I was a few glasses of wine in, so I'm sure my excitement to see her was a bit over the top.
Before we left, we had an adorable little surprise from the Calhoons and our waiter brought us over our menu with our anniversary date on it and signed by Debbie Gold. So so sweet!
A wonderful anniversary with a wonderful husband. I can't wait to spend the next 5, 10, 20, 50, etc. years with you!
*And that's another story in and of itself for another day....

Name That Stain
That moment when you're at work and you notice a GIANT stain on your dress... anyone else recognize this as a cabernet moment?? Apparently the last time I wore this I attended happy hour.
I swear I grabbed it from the laundry room this morning. I'm just concerned that I didn't notice it when I looked in the full length mirrior before I left.
Stay Classy.

Athletic, or something like that
I like to think that I'm athletic. Until I watch the people in the Olympics, then I might as well be an uncoordinated blob on the sidelines.
Last week before the Olympics started, while I was still feeling all athletic in my mind, I had to run an errand for work. To a basketball camp. What do I do for a living??!! It was just to pick up some papers from a client, I was not partaking in the camp, nor did I want to.
As I walked in the gym in my heels and dress clothes, I paused for a second to find myself among fourty-seven 8 year old boys, and all of their balls. Basketballs. (I am so mature)
So I find the client, get the papers and start to walk out the only way possible, under the goal. Purse in one hand, papers in the other.
You know where this is going right?
I briefly see a ball flying at my head and I did not have time to react. BAM. Of coarse this was a basketball camp that parents stayed for hence the bleachers being full and everyone witnessing this. As if people weren't already looking at me, being as though I was wearing heels on a basketball court. I heard a couple of oohh's and ahhh's, and got the hell out of there.
Walking out, I text my boss:
Got the papers... and got hit in the head with a basketball. It was never really my sport.
He called shortly after getting the text and was cracking up, then he said 'did you see anyone you knew?' Confused on why he thought I would be familiar with 8 year old boys, he explained that the coach's were KU bball players. I'm just glad I didn't have on a K-State shirt when this happened. Not the proudest moment for an alum.
