Stoner

Marg has a problem.  Well, we've all known this for awhile, but this is a foot problem.  Monday night I thought I saw her limping, but figured she was probably just sore from going to daycare that day.  The next morning she was hobbling along pretty good and I was sure something was wrong.  I was running late as usual so I just planned on re-evaluating it over my lunch break.  Yep, still limping.

I ran to the store after work and Tony took her to the vet.  He called to tell me that they were going to do x-rays and give her a pain med shot.  Oh and that it would be $300.

About 30 minutes later I get a call from Tony,  'I have a dog...and a seat full of poop. Can you bring out rubber gloves, a bag, and some cleaner?!'

After I confirmed that the poop was Margo's and not his, I started laughing hysterically.

Turns out the shot had made her extra loose and woosy.  She got inside and just stood in the middle of the living room staring at me for about 4 solid minutes.  She wouldn't move.  Not even for a treat.  Then she started swaying back and forth like she was passing out.  It was the funniest and saddest thing I've ever seen.  I had to hold her up until Tony could come carry her to the couch (she's too fat for me to lift...good thing we didn't get that great dane I wanted).  Needless to say she slept for the rest of the night.

Tony sent me this text today after he talked to the vet  'X-ray was negative so she said it was probably soft tissue.  Said that her poop and stoner appearance was from the pain shot, they will note that they gave her a little too high of a dose.'

Glad they've got the doses under control at Petsmart.  She's probably wishing we would give her one of those shots daily.

Hutch High 2001

Two weekends ago, we made the trek back to Hutch for Tony's high school reunion.  I had absolutely no idea what to expect.  Me being all young and everything, we haven't had ours yet.  Next year.  See, I'm so young.

We met up with some people at the Rusty Needle on Friday night.  If that name doesn't intise you, I'm not sure what will.  Turns out, it's connected to a tattoo parlor, hince the name.  Through the night I gathered that it was called The Needle for short.  Much better.  Not knowing who we would run into at The Needle, and me not knowing a sole from Hutch High, we consumed multiple cocktails before arriving.  There was a huge nasty storm that came through about 10:00, that's when the roof started leaking.  In about 17 places.  It ended up being a really fun night and from what I know, nobody ended up with any Hutch High tattoos.  We got to see Tony's friend Ryan and his wife Joah, who we hadn't seen since their wedding a few years ago.  She is kind of my sole mate.  Thank God she was there.

Necessary

The next morning I ran over to my grandmother's house for breakfast.  She always does such an awesome job with meals.  Check out my plate.  So pretty!

There was a school tour in the afternoon, but we got caught up in laying by Tony's friend's pool instead.  I made a comment that it was the first time I'd been to a pool all summer.  Tony quickly corrected me that I was just at a Vegas pool about 2 weeks ago.  Ahh, yes.  He always keeps me so in check.  Even though there was vodka present at this pool, it wasn't really on the same level as Veg.  That's clearly what I was thinking when I said that.  After a lot of the sun's rays, and beverages we had to go get ready for the actual reunion at the Ramada.

Can you tell which one I'd been drinking with at the pool all day??

Sometime in between absolutely nobody dancing besides the wives that didn't attend HHS (above), and the corregraphed dance to Men In Black done by a guy and his girlfriend/wife/baby-mama in matching wife beaters, Joah decided that we needed a break from the reunion.  I believe her exact words were 'these people are so lame, let's go take a shot.'  Twist my arm...
So we headed across the hall to the hotel bar, which is really actually considered a club in Hutch.  The next few pictures speak for themselves...

#1 - tequila

I told them I was terrible at shots, however, the situation desperately called for me to pull it together.

#2 - Starburst

#3 - tequila.  Again.  Wth.

This has got to be my favorite picture.  Besides Courtney's face and her upside down name tag, my shot DID NOT go down well.  I grabbed a beer from the stranger sitting next to me and used it as a chaser.  I don't even think he noticed.

The rest of the night went the same way.  I have no idea what our husbands were doing besides sitting next to the bar.  I wore Joah's name tag around and told people I was in their class.  Joah told people she was the Swedish foreign exchange student.  We might have been the most fun people there.  Well, at least in our minds.

My name is not Joah
It was actually a really fun weekend and I'd love to see them all again really soon!  Hopefully nobody will remember me at Tony's 20 year.  Maybe I'll be better at taking shots by then.

My Hero.

Here's a clip of my parents date this weekend....

When I asked my dad what my parents were doing this weekend, he responded with 'We're going to the 6th Annual Oklahoma Full Automatic Shoot & Trade Show'  I think I had a blank stare on my face.
He said 'Guess who's idea it was?  ....Your mom's.'

Roger Creager

ROCKS!

Forget the fact that 4 different people asking if my dad and I were married.  And at the point in the song where it says I love younger women the group in front of us turned around and stared at us.  Listen, if I were married to a man as old as my dad, I would have big fake boobs and drive a porshe convertible.

Knuckleheads, yo.

Fried pickles and beer.  Nothing goes together better.  Plus, their ranch gave Pizza Hut a run for it's money.  I opened up my dad's eyes to the world of fried pickles.  Believe me, there's no turning back.

That BL is a pounder... which makes that Pabst, huge.

He sings a song called Everclear, which reminds me of Tony and I's first date party together.  Everclear - 1.  Tony- 0.  I like to think he over did it because he was nervous to go with me.  In all reality, he was a 20 year old frat boy.

See where I get my cheeks from...

We had so much fun!  It was an awesome night outside and it was wonderful getting to just hang out with my dad.  I think I'm ready for one of his Austin trips...

Happy Friday.  I hope ya'll are feeling better than me this morning!

Whooo's your Daddy?

That catchy slogan was on the back of a Chi O Dad's Day t-shirt circa 2004.  Don't worry, my dad busted it out for Father's Day.

We got back in town from Tony's HS reunion (post to come, believe me it was an experience) on Sunday and headed to my parents for church and dinner.  Well, church wasn't at my parents house obviously, but you get what I mean.

Dad cooked us some steaks, zuchinni, mushrooms, and corn on the grill.  I love that he cooked dinner on Father's Day.  Nice planning, Mom :)
I'm glad he did though, it was delicious.  (no offense, mom...)

We snapped some pictures.  Don't judge my apperance.  I was still feeling the night before a tad.

My mom bought dad some pearl snap cowboy shirts and he was thrilled.  Seriously thrilled.

Speaking of cowboys, my dad and I are attending a concert down at the West Bottoms tomorrow night.  I have no clue who the band is, but I know if my dad likes them, it's some serious Texan Country.  Don't worry I'm taking my camera.  It should be interesting.  There's a reason why my mom doesn't go to these things.  Stay tuned.

Love you Dad!  I hope you had a fab Father's Day.  Glad we got to celebrate it with you!

Goin' to the Chapel... for the Calhoon's!

My bestie got married last weekend!  I finally pulled it together and compiled my pictures from the amazing weekend.  Gin was on her honeymoon and I decided to take a mental  downloading picture break with her.

The rehersal was short and sweet and then we were off to Delgado's - aka the best mexican food joint ever.

The boys sat by themselves and kept entertained.  I'm sure a few inappropriate comments were made and/or shouted across the restaurant.

Then we headed to Charlie's for some beverages to end the night.

Groom sandwich

The Birts... pull it together Mitch

And I got to see these 2 pretties!
The next morning we were up early, taking excedrin migrane and eating breakfast burritos at the salon with Gin!

Pretty pretty love bug!
Cheers!

To the church... the flowers were the prettiest things I've ever seen.  Besides the bride :)

Gina's niece was the flower girl.  I've never met a little cutie with more of a personality.  She kinda made the day :)

Wasn't digging the camera in her face at first.

LOVED her dress!

This picture makes me chuckle.  Almost like Gina is super worried that Em is going to make her glow.  And Emily has no clue what she's doing.

Waiting for the show...

As we were waiting, Gina's mom grabbed me and I snapped a picture of Gina's dad.... I think he was just ready to get to the party.

Dancing up to take pictures
Almost time to walk the walk...

The ceremony was beautiful and you could just tell both Kirk and Gina were so happy.  I cried.  I also laughed, a lot.  Inappropriate laughing.  Gina's sister Denise, mom to the flower girl was standing in line in front of me, Emily was behind me.  In the middle of the ceremony, Malia the flower girl, somehow got the basket stuck on her face and could not get it off.  She was sitting in front of us, looked up with the basket over her face and said 'Mom! Help!! Help me mom!!!'  I lost it.  Emily was laughing, Denise was laughing, and nobody else knew what was going on because they couldn't see her.  I had the giggles and my shoulders were shaking.  This lasted as to what felt like forever.  I would take a deep breath, then I'd hear Emily laugh and I'd start up again.  It was super inappropriate.  My mom said so.  She also said that Denise was laughing just as hard, so I felt a little better about the situation.
Turns out when Emily and I told people about it, they just didn't think it was as slap your knee funny as we did.  You can imagine our delight when this picture surfaced on facebook...

I still get the giggles.  I wish everyone could have heard the distress in her voice when she was pleading to her mom for help.

After they said their I Do's, the wedding party headed to Lumpy's (a bar on the way to the reception).  This was the best idea ever.  Look at those beers!

The next sequence of pics is humerous.  How many times does it take for these two to figure it out?

3rd times a charm

Newlyweds!
Then we scrunched in a car to head to the reception, and saw these 2 walking.  Nothing like stopping in the middle of Main Street to pick up friends in your trunk.  However, if you look into the background, it's not like we were stopping traffic.  Good ol' GB.

Besides the DJ being a pain the ass and playing Sir Mix Alot's Baby Got Back as the first song after the newlywed's dance (Gin, it was so much better than hearing it during our ceremony), the reception was a blast, everyone had so much fun!  My legs were sore from dancing for like a week.  I'm sure I was working some sweet moves.
Mitch caught the garder.  He was thrilled.

After the dance and mostly everyone being overserved, we headed to Charlie's for a night cap.  The next day as we were driving home Emily and I were talking and said 'did Christy and Mitch go to Charlie's?'  Then I got my camera out and saw the pictures of the car ride there...
That's a Christy, and that's a Mitch

It reminded me a little bit of The Hangover.  We got a good laugh out of that.  Oh duh, they were IN THE CAR with us.  Sorry guys, it's not that you are forgettable, I blame the Bud Light, wine, & champagne

And a few extra pictures from the end of the night.  I think it was successful!

No clue.

Family pic plus Scott

And here's Tony's cue that he wanted to go home.

Congrats Gina & Kirk Calhoon!  We love you so much.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your big day!  Muah!
