I was craving something sweet last night and decided to make a dessert. It was amazingly easy and amazingly wonderful.
Make it tonight. Or tomorrow. Or this weekend.
Blueberry pie filling (21 oz. can) - you could use whatever flavor you want I'm sure
Yellow cake mix (9.oz)
Chopped Pecans (1/4 cup)
Melted Butter (1/4 cup)
Ice Cream
Put pie filling in crock, sprinkle with cake mix, pecans, and drizzle with butter. I also sprinkled on some oats that added a little texture. Cook for 3 hours on high or until top is brown and cooked. Serve with ice cream.
Makes 4-6 servings.
Life is what we make it... always has been... always will be.

Frank Recruiting?
What do you suppose Frank Martin was doing hanging out with PitBull? Wonder if they used a 'Kodak' for this snapshot?
*I have to give my hubs credit for this post.

Crupper Wedding - Take One
The first part of this wonderful event took place on the Friday afternoon before we left for Mexico.
When Emily set the date of their wedding in Mexico she didn't realize that 9/16 was Mexico's Independence Day (who else thought that's what Cinco De Mayo was??? Me too). This meant that while their whole ceremony took place in Mexico, it wouldn't be legal. Huh? So basically they had to get officially married in the US before leaving for Mexico.
Dave spoke to the Justice of the Peace or whoever it was that was going to marry them, and the Judge asked where they would like to get married. Not realizing he had a choice to not do it at the courthouse, he replied that he'd like it to be in their backyard.
Knowing they were doing this, we all kind of invited ourselves to the event. And of coarse it ended up being an awesome party.

Hola!
Woah! Been awhile. Work is CrAzY town I tell you. No time for anything, not even Facebook, let alone blogging.
But tomorrow at this time I'll be enjoyingone twelve of these:
Mexico Bound for Dave & Em's wedding!!!!
I'm not trying to rub it in (well, maybe I am), but I just wanted to let you know that I will be on a hiatus from blogging. As if I have been really good at it lately...
I'll make it up eventually. Promise.
Adios!

Butch or Lipstick?
Yesterday marks the second time in 2 months that Tony or I have found a random lost dog in our yard. Actually in my case, in the garage.
As I was walking out of the garage door to go back to work, I noticed a black and white furry thing in the corner sniffing around. I tried to get it to come to me, and it started barking at me. So I walked out front and looked around for anyone who it might belong to. Nada. Of coarse it wasn't wearing a collar. I had to get back to work and couldn't just leave it out roaming the streets to get hit by a car, so I lured it into my house with a treat. Crazy lady neighborhood dog napper here.
I left a big sign on the garage that said 'Lost Dog? In backyard.' Told the neighbors if anyone came to their door looking for a dog that it was in our backyard. I gave him food, water and a few of Margo's toys.
When I got back to work, I called about 5 vet offices asking if anyone had reported him. No luck, but they all told me to call Animal Control and they would come pick him up and take him to a shelter. I was not about to do that. I probably would have cried. So I was stressing all afternoon about what I was going to do with this poor lost puppy. I get home and run to the backyard.... no dog. I went back to the garage door to see if someone had written anything on the sign or stuck something to the front door. Maybe saying something like THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING MY DOG!! or even a simple PICKED UP MY DOG.
Nothing.
Which also marks the second time we have tried to save a dog from being hit by a car, and the owners haven't said ANYTHING or even left a note. I would be buying people presents if they took Margo in. Not that I'm expecting presents from anyone, just maybe a quick note on the back of receipt they had in their car that says 'took my dog', so I'm not running around my backyard panicking that a squirrel ate it. Whatevs.
On a funnier note... Margo has been into girl dogs a lot lately. Like really into them. Gina's sister's dog Lily is like Margo's dream weaver. Every time she is around, Margo humps her.
Yesterday, I picked Marg up from daycare and the guy who brought her out said 'she has a crush on a girl Boxer...' I kind of looked at him funny and then said 'Ya, I think she's a lesbian.'
Poor gender confused Margo. Maybe she is just bi-curious? If she is a lez, what category do you think she falls into?

My vote is for Butch.

I'm like stop...
What happens when your husband goes out on a bachelor party, say last weekend???
The wives make their own girls night out, and I end up stealing the microphone from poor college kids to rap Vanilla Ice. That's what happens.
Saturday we found ourselves in the middle of karaoke night at Paddy O'Quigleys. I should clarify, we did not go there intending for it to be karaoke night, nor did we intend to join in. The next thing I know, I'm jumping out of my chair, ripping the mic out of a strange boy's hand, telling him he needs to learn the words, and doing hand motions to Ice Ice Baby.
And just because I love you all, and don't mind making fun of myself, I'm going to share those pictures...
Oh look! I found a friend! Thanks Chels.
By the looks of the screen in the background, we had moved on to some Nelly. Note, not once did we actually request a song...I wonder if those guys got sick of us stealing their thunder? Clearly we didn't care. I don't think that is good karaoke etiquette.
Gina managed to make me realize I should NEVER. EVER. kareoke again by capturing all of this on my camera.
And for that, we thank you!!
(Tosh reference anyone??)

And then it was the battle of the twins. Em decided to join the party! Still singing someone else's song. It looks like Journey...

Cold Beer on a Friday Night
Alright alright... this is going to be a brief post, but I gotta get it on here since it's almost been a month since we went.
Almost a year ago we bought tix to the Kenny Chesney, Zach Brown, and Billy Currington concert. Since we bought the tickets so long ago, it almost seemed like we got in for free. Until you arrived at the beer stand. $9. Ouch.
It's a good thing we tailgated like we were 21.
And I'm 100% sure the double fisting led to the last picture of the night...

Mr. K's lobster fondue. Yes, please!

The one and only ICE.

We rocked the boys in flip cup.

But then we got cocky and lost.

Dave lathered some sunscreen

Kirk got stuck in a tent.
We headed in right after Uncle Kracker was done playing. I was not paying $9 for a beer AND listening to someone, whose name sounds like a pedifile, sing.
We had pretty good seats. In the shade. Thank God. It was like 105 outside. Those poor people in the middle had to have been scorching!

Cheers!
At one point when we went inside to cool off and grab another cold one, Dave asked these nice boys to take a picture of us all.
Then he told them to get in the picture with Emily and I. They looked at us, and looked at him and said 'we're in college.' So exactly how old did they think we looked?!?! I think it was his nice way of saying, 'they are cougars.'
I didn't realize until I looked at the picture the next day how young they really did look..

I'm not sure the exact sequence of events that led to this next picture, but I'm sure it had something to do with us double fisting.

Those are Emily's legs over the old stranger in front of us. I think he liked it.
And I'm 100% sure the double fisting led to the last picture of the night...
My favorite part is that Emily doesn't even looked phased at Dave being pantless.
Note to self... never try to take a taxi home from a concert. 2 and a half hours later, we ended up walking to the highway. Longest Night Ever. At least I was with my favorite people! I'm so excited for football season to be able to tailgate again!
