Scotty McCreery, The Band Perry, and Brad Paisley

Last Thursday I headed down to the Sprint Center with my mom, aunts, and cousin to see Brad Paisley.  I didn't know until the week of that Scotty McCreery and The Band Perry were opening!

We hit up Willie's before the concert for some bevs (and chili cheese chips).  I love my family.

Before the concert these 3 middle school girls sitting in front of us asked if we cared if they stood up during Scotty McCreery.  We said that was fine, and the second he walked on stage they started screaming at the top of their lungs.  I was expecting them to start crying at any point in time.  It was adorable.  Adorable until we realized that the one girl right in front of us was the size of the tour bus.  There was no seeing around her, so we ended up standing too.  Which was fine in the end.  I sing better standing up :)

Scotty was a doll face, just as I had expected. What a great performer!  Side note- I'm stoaked that AI is back on.  Love me some Steven Tyler and J Lo.

The Band Perry rocked it.  I still love 'if I die young' even though it was extremely overplayed there for awhile.  She reminds me of Jennifer Needles from SugarLand. And I could listen to Sugarland all day long.

My mom always does this in pictures when she's right next to the camera...leans back with her chin pushed back, and then says 'how many chins did I have?'.  So we did a take two like this......

The crew

Brad came on with the best lighting effects.  He really put on a good show and I was surprised that I practically knew every song.  Don't worry, I definitely sang along.

Can I be any whiter??!!
Brad made his way out to the middle...

After being in the middle for awhile he ran around the floor and right in front of us.  Of coarse my camera was dead at this point.  Figures.
The last song of the night was 'Remind me'.  You know, the one he sings with Carrie Underwood.  Well, she CAME WALKING OUT ON STAGE.  My camera is still dead.
I heard a rumor it wasn't her, but her face was reflected on the jumbo tron and I know it was, even with the multiple giant beers in me.

Such a fun night with my family!

Good thing...

...that being a better blogger was not on my NYE resolution list.  In fact, nothing was.  I don't like to set myself up for failure or hold myself accountable for anything.  It's an issue in and of itself.

But I will show you what we did on NYE.  I'm only 20 days over due.  Forget the fact I haven't blogged about Christmas yet.

We reserved a table at Johnny's and they had NYE swag that consisted of hats, necklaces, and horns.  We even had our own fancy sign...

Side note- I walked in and said, 'we have a table under Gina Penka.'  The lady said 'well, we have a Gina Calhoon down'  Oh yes, Gin has been married for like 8 months...

Sorry for that last one.  Where else can you put pictures of you and your husband making out if not on your blog?

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!  Bring on 2012.  I have a feeling it's going to be the best year yet!

Chalk up another vet bill

I swear anything and everything that can happen to a dog, has happened to ours.

Tony and I were organizing our basement for the first time since we have moved in (2.5 years ago), and Margo was running around in the backyard.  She came in and was licking her paw and we noticed a good amount of blood on her leg.  Tony held her up and I made the executive decision that it was definitely deep enough for stitches.  Lovely.

She ended up getting a few staples at the vet, but only after they had to put her out since she was too hyper (shocker).

The vet informed us that as soon as she came out of sedation, she started chewing on the bandage, so we would need to keep a cone on her.

She is less than thrilled...

I feel horrible that she has to wear the cone, she pouted and sulked around for a good 24 hours.  Now that she's getting used it, I'm starting to not feel as bad and find humor in it when she runs into every doorway in our house.
I came home over lunch today and she had gotten herself stuck in the bathroom.  I'm sure the cone pushed the door shut when she was trying to get back out.

I think the lesson learned is no more cleaning the basement for us.

Diagnosis: Depression

Welp this is as close as I'm getting to the Cotton Bowl...

Sporting my purple boots to work and slowly dying of jealously from all who are there.  I really hate my life today.  Pity party for 1 please.

GO CATS!!!  I'm there in spirit... almost in person, as I looked up last minute flights to Dallas this morning.  'Sorry, Tony I won't be home for dinner... I just landed in Dallas.'  Oh, how I wish!

Why Wouldn't I?

..Bring jello shots to my work party?

I was told to bring a 'treat'.  When I think of 'treat', naturally jello shots came to mind.  I have no idea why, I haven't made jello shots since college.

Margo helped out by catching some gelatin drippings with her booty.

Needless to say, I have a lot of new friends at work...

Good Taste?

Speaking of Christmas cards...

I got this text message from our friends Andy & Andie...we hadn't received theirs yet.

'Wtf? So awkward...'

Good to know someone else thought the style of our cards were cute!

Christmas Cards

Is it seriously 10 days until Christmas?  It's time for a Christmas post I think.  Maybe a sneak peak of our Christmas card?
We had issues this year.  In the past we've always had at least one picture that we had taken the past year, and I couldn't wait to use in our card.

See?

2007 - Our Wedding

2008 - I just loved this picture from Krista's wedding.  Even if it is a little boob-tastic.  I didn't realize how semi-inappropriate it was until I received it in the mail after I ordered it.  Don't worry I still sent it out.. sorry grandparents.

2009 - This is my all time favorite card which obviously includes my favorite people, Frank and Willie.  And my husband, I love my husband.  Pics from Coaches vs. Cancer.

Love, Tony Callie Frank & Willie

2010- Mexico Trip pics!  And we had an important addition to the family, precious love bug Marg.  Now that I look at this, we look like we belong on Ace Ventura with all the wildlife going on...

So are you really excited to see our family Christmas card this year??

Presenting the best picture I could find of 2011...

After 4 years of marriage apparently you stop taking pictures of yourselves, and focus on the animal of the house.  And forget that the past year your card had a huge star on it too...

Merry Christmas - from ALL of us.

Heavenly Baked Potato Soup

Happy December!  Please make this soup soon.  Like pick up the ingrediants over your lunch break soon.

Tony and I were both super impressed with this recipe.  I might even go as far as saying it was better than Panera's baked potato soup.  Gasp, I know.

8 cups diced potatoes

1/2 large onion, chopped
6 chicken bouillon cubes
5 cups water
1 - 10 ¾ ounce can of condensed cream of chicken soup
1 - 8 ounce package of cream cheese

Bacon, cheese, and green onions for garnish - optional

Combine potatoes, onion, water, bouillon, and chicken soup in the crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until potatoes are tender. Add cream cheese to crock pot and blend with wisk. Top with bacon and parsley or onions before serving.
Makes enough for about 6 people.  Tony and I had it for leftovers and it was even better.

Northface Debacle & Collin Klein rocks my world

I haven't talked about KSU football in quite some time. I also haven't blogged in quite some time.

The Cats are on a roll.  They are giving me super anxiety every freaking weekend with these close games.  And I love love love Collin Klein.  Did you know that he hasn't practiced in 2 weeks?  Before the A&M game and the Texas game... no practice.  He's probably trying to heal those poor arm wounds he keeps gashing open every weekend.  What a beast!

2 weekends ago, Tony and I headed down to the Little Apple on Friday before the A&M game.  We got to hang out in Aggieville, eat at So Long Saloon, and see a few of our friends.  Let me just say that Aggieville beat me up.  In a dual between me and Aggieville - The Ville won.
Here's some pictures of the night..

Anti-Drunk Dialer.  Genious.

My cousin Bridget met us out.  She's young, hip and in college.  And she got us free t-shirts...

And braided the bouncers hair...

The next morning on our way out of the door, Biggs said 'don't forget your fleece.'  I looked at her and said 'I don't have a fleece.'  She picked up a northface fleece off of her couch and said 'whose is this then?'.  Turns out, Tony had grabbed a pile of coats that was by ours from the bar when we left.  I thought it was hilarious and then we noticed another one sitting under it!  It gets better, Biggs checked one of the pockets and pulled out a pair of KEYS!!  We just stared at each other like 'oh shit.'  Luckily (or unluckily) the keys were attached to a work badge from the Vet center.  Biggs facebooked the girl and we brought the coats with us to tailgate.  Unfortunately they were both XL's and covered in horse hair, but I still wore one because it was FREEZING that morning.

Northface Snatcher
It was such an AWESOME game!  Quadruple overtime sure sobered me up for the drive home.  My hubby was happy :)

I can't wait to find out what bowl we are going to... our plane tickets are awaiting us.  GO STATE!!!

Life would be boring without dogs...

Ran across this picture today on Pinterest and it made me laugh...

And it also reminded me of my own life....

Halloween at Arrowhead

We spent our Halloween out at Arrowhead to watch the Chiefs vs. Chargers.  It was one hell of a game!

I'd like to mention the fact that Chief's fans scare me.  They are in. sane.  Especially on Halloween.  I have no idea what possessed what I felt was the majority of people to dress up super skanky when it was freezing out and they were attending a football game.  Fishnet hose? Check.  Tube top dresses?  Check.  High Heels?? Check. Check. Check.
Craziness.
I should have taken pictures, but I was too shocked to work my camera.

Our seats were fab.  Tony got them from a guy he refers patients to.  They had to go trick-or-treating with their kids... we did not.

Andie informed me that these are called 'rowdy towels'.  She loved her some rowdy towel that night!

I'm sure the boys were annoyed b/c we were doing this...

We left with about 5 minutes left in the game to beat traffic.  The game ended up going to overtime and the Chiefs pulled out a win.  I wish we would have stayed until the end, but it would have taken us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot.  Which looked like this....

I rest my point.  Chief's fans are in. sane.
