Seriously, I almost didn't remember how to create a post on here! It's been a long time... yada yada yada. I know.
I really never make New Year's goals, but I'm thinking mine should be to actually blog again. Obvi.
Let's start with a few pictures that you've missed. Unless you are my Facebook friend or follow me on Twitter or Instagram, then these are all a repeat. Speaking of Instagram, I just started it and am obsessed. I know I'm probably the last one on that train, but I also just got an iPhone. That explains a lot, right? Welcome to the millinium, Callie.
Nevermind, apparently I can't upload pictures anymore. Wth? Any suggestions? Really Blogger, I know it's been a while...
So this post was pointless, but I'll be back with pictures as soon as I can figure it out! It's not giving me a browse option under the picture upload tab. Help!
Life is what we make it... always has been... always will be.

And another.
I haven't found the culprit yet, but someone enjoys after hours at the office. I can't imagine too many people drink Liberty Ale, so my investigation will start with that.
Good morning to me.
Good morning to me.

Don't you just love....
coming into work on a Monday morning to this?
Either I have the best co-workers, or the cleaning crew came from Mexico.
Happy Monday to all!

5 years
Oh hello there, it's almost the end of August and I haven't blogged since the 1st. It's not that I don't have things to blog about or time to do it (work), it's just that I don't have the motivation to do it lately. I do better when people harrass me about being a crappy blogger. So here you go harrassers...
So what's been going on in the Line household? Well, we had our 5 year wedding anniversary. FIVE years! Holy moly. We should have like 4 kids by now... or something like that.
Instead we chose to spend our special day celebrating in style, our way.
I woke up super early and couldn't go back to sleep because I had received Tony's gift in the mail the day before and he wouldn't let me give it to him early. I am so so so bad at keeping surprises when it comes to giving gifts. Since it's our 5 year, the 'traditional' gift is wood. I was at a loss for a long time and then my mom suggested a lady in GB who does amazing carvings. Hence the final product:
She could not have done a better job. Powercat- check. Dental Medical sign- check. Wedding date- check. Margo Largo- double freaking check.
We couldn't get over how much detail is in it. If you look at it in person it is unbelievable.
We started off the morning by dropping off Marg at school and heading down to the plaza for coffee and shopping. We went to Starbucks, ordered a coffee and muffin and went to sit outside. This was out of my comfort zone. I just can't imagine doing that on a regular basis... it's like people go by themselves to get coffee, sit outside and read to themselves to show everyone else that they're reading. It's odd to me, but whatevs.
I have the best husband ever, he let me pick out my own gift. Seriously, that could have been dangerous, I really need a new car*. Too bad there aren't any dealerships on the plaza.
We walked around for awhile before strolling into Tivol and I knew then exactly what I wanted. A ring for my right hand. I wanted something that I could wear everyday and it would always be a reminder of our 5 year anniversary.I bring you gorgeous David Yurman:
I actually opted against this exact one with the diamonds b/c I fell in love with the 2-toned one that I don't have a picture of at the moment.
Did you know that dogs can go into Tivol?! I just laugh at the thought of bringing Margo into a jewerly store. Or any store for that matter.
Next on our list was heading out to the Legends. We were starting to get hungry so we stopped at Granite City and had beers and an appetizer. Then we went to the casino. What? Not a normal anniversary celebration? It's right up our alley. We love us some roulette.
After a couple of hours, Tony was up and I was only down $5, so we decided to jet back to our house and clean up for dinner later on. Somehow we found a 2007 bottle of cab in our stock and excitedly popped it open since that was our wedding year.
Our ride came to pick us up for dinner and we continued our way to The American down in Crown Center. I loved everything about this restaurant and it was worth every penny. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and of coarse the wine was amazing.
Tony had arranged for 2 glasses of champagne to be brought to us when we sat down. Then we ordered a bottle of wine. The waitor came back and filled up our champagne and I could tell Tony was confused. He had only ordered two glasses, but sitting behind him was a BOTTLE of champagne in a chiller.... Oops. Guess we were drinking that too.
I had the artichoke soup, heirloom tomato salad, halibut, scallops, and nickers bar. All of it was fantastic.
I'm a big Top Chef fan and I've been watching Top Chef Masters this season so I knew Debbie Gold was a contestant from Kansas City and worked at the American. I was talking to our server about it and the next course that came out was presented by Debbie herself. I about died. She was so friendly and just a doll. I was a few glasses of wine in, so I'm sure my excitement to see her was a bit over the top.
Before we left, we had an adorable little surprise from the Calhoons and our waiter brought us over our menu with our anniversary date on it and signed by Debbie Gold. So so sweet!
A wonderful anniversary with a wonderful husband. I can't wait to spend the next 5, 10, 20, 50, etc. years with you!
*And that's another story in and of itself for another day....

Name That Stain
That moment when you're at work and you notice a GIANT stain on your dress... anyone else recognize this as a cabernet moment?? Apparently the last time I wore this I attended happy hour.
I swear I grabbed it from the laundry room this morning. I'm just concerned that I didn't notice it when I looked in the full length mirrior before I left.
Stay Classy.

Athletic, or something like that
I like to think that I'm athletic. Until I watch the people in the Olympics, then I might as well be an uncoordinated blob on the sidelines.
Last week before the Olympics started, while I was still feeling all athletic in my mind, I had to run an errand for work. To a basketball camp. What do I do for a living??!! It was just to pick up some papers from a client, I was not partaking in the camp, nor did I want to.
As I walked in the gym in my heels and dress clothes, I paused for a second to find myself among fourty-seven 8 year old boys, and all of their balls. Basketballs. (I am so mature)
So I find the client, get the papers and start to walk out the only way possible, under the goal. Purse in one hand, papers in the other.
You know where this is going right?
I briefly see a ball flying at my head and I did not have time to react. BAM. Of coarse this was a basketball camp that parents stayed for hence the bleachers being full and everyone witnessing this. As if people weren't already looking at me, being as though I was wearing heels on a basketball court. I heard a couple of oohh's and ahhh's, and got the hell out of there.
Walking out, I text my boss:
Got the papers... and got hit in the head with a basketball. It was never really my sport.
He called shortly after getting the text and was cracking up, then he said 'did you see anyone you knew?' Confused on why he thought I would be familiar with 8 year old boys, he explained that the coach's were KU bball players. I'm just glad I didn't have on a K-State shirt when this happened. Not the proudest moment for an alum.

Cafe Trio Drinko
Ok, that's not the official name, but I'm starting a petition to change it after last night.
Krista and I met for happy hour at Cafe Trio. I got there first and our series of texts went like this:
Me: Outside?
K: Are you serious?
Me: They have misters.
As if misters would save us from the 98 degree weather. We tried to play it cool until we couldn't handle the heat anymore and moved inside. Their patio was amazing!
It didn't look big in that picture, so we had to use props to show the comparison...

To our delight, Tuesday are 1/2 price wine night. Match made in heaven. After 2 glasses of the Cab that the waitress recommended, I couldn't decide on my next move. The bartender suggested one of their beers on tap. I was lame and went with a Blue Moon, but it was a great refresher.
The best part of the whole night, well besides being with Krista and her using the word 'horribler', was when I looked at the menu and saw this:

A Margo pizza!
Duh, I had to order it. It did not disappoint, delish!
We also had maybe the best spin dip I've ever had.
About this time we moved again, this time further down the bar to give us some more room. It was like we were playing musical chairs. Good thing the bartenders didn't care, they brought us over a "taste tester". It just looked like a giant shot to me, don't try to use fancy words to disguise it.
Apparently I was loving the recommendations last night as I had a tweet from one of my fav bloggers, Trophy Wife, who told me to try the Sangria. Bring it on!
When the bartender set it in front of me, my eyes about popped out of my head.
It was the biggest glass of Sangria I'd ever seen.
Cafe Trio was not messing around.
It didn't look big in that picture, so we had to use props to show the comparison...
That's a tall beer glass to the left, and Krista's bigger than normal sized wine glass.
It came with two straws. I'm not sure if it always comes with two straws or if the bartender was trying to tell us something :)
Jam Jar Wine
We had a blast and I loved Cafe Trio. It might be my new favorite happy hour spot. Especially on Tuesdays.
Who's going with me next week?

Flip It and Reverse It
After that title I can't stop singing lil' kims rap song from the 90's... anybody??
On Saturday we did an overhaul clean of our front closet. Believe me, it was so necessary. I should have taken before and after pictures. I found two TWO k-state sweatshirts that I thought I had lost.
Do you want to know what else we found? A K-State starter jacket. Legit starter jacket. I have no idea how it got into our closet. I will tell you that it was Tony's and not mine. I'd like to think his parents brought it up at some point to get it out of their house, and that he hasn't moved it around to 4 different houses since he was... 13.
As we were shuffling through the 28 coats deciding on what we could donate, we had a convo that went like this:
Tony: I feel like I wear most of these jackets still.
Me: Can we at least get rid of the k-state starter jacket?
Tony: Man, that thing carries around lots of memories...
I go to let Margo out in the backyard, as I turn the corner to the living room I hear 'Cal, we can't get rid of this, it's reversible!!!' and then I see this:

You better believe I made him prove that it was reversible. And it is...
I told him we could mail it to Bill if that would make him feel better. In which he replied, 'I think he already has it.'
Sorry folks, everyone is out of luck, it has a new home at the GoodWill. If you hurry, you might be able to still get your hands on it!

Kan't Smoke Us
It's the 3rd year in a row that these boys have participated in the Cure of Ars BBQ competition. Which makes it probably 4 years since Heath joined the church so they could participate. Kidding. Kind of.
There's about 40 teams that participate, and the last 2 years the boys have done pretty well. This year they decided to change it up a bit. Everyone switched meats. I was thrilled b/c I was over Tony's sausage. (that's what she said). Meat jokes never get old, especially around the BBQ crowd.
The gals help with the set up, side dishes, and running to pick up anything the guys forgot. There's a spirit award at the competition, and we are all about that. Hence the coozies we decided to make this year. Last year we got second place, and we were FOR SURE this would be our year to get 1st on the spirit end. That is, until a plane flew overhead with another teams banner on it. It's a little hard to compete with a real plane. We are now in the market for skydivers for next year... any takers??
So we got 2nd in the spirit. AGAIN. So close, yet so far away.
The announcing of the winners goes through each category of meat, naming the top 5 teams. Our team has never been called. We were always sure that we were probably #6.
So here's how the turn of events happened.
Sausage- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 not us
Ribs- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 not us
Pork- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 not us
By this time everyone was starting to think we must have done terrible. And then...
Briskett- 5, 4, 3, 2, US
Andy's brisket was #1. And the crowd goes wild!! We all jumped out of our chairs and ran up to the stage like we just won the lottery. Yes, the girls did too even though we didn't really contribute to the meat.
After calming down a bit. The announcer continued with the final places overall. Starting with #10.
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, what the hell...
#1 - Kan't Smoke Us
Grand Champions! I still can't believe it to this day. It's a pretty big deal and the guys were so so happy. You can bet the rest of the night we all celebrated heavily.
Turns out the rest of the boys categories all placed 7th and with our spirit award being 2nd, our points added up to first place. Beating the 2nd place team by about 30 points.
Pictures for your pleasure...
(I have NO idea why some are turned sideways, but I've already spent 2 hours trying to upload them, so you'll just have to tilt your head)

Please take a closer look at the last picture. It is my favorite. Mainly because Erin looks super drunk, by herself in the corner.
Congrats guys, you all did awesome!
