Cold Beer on a Friday Night

Alright alright... this is going to be a brief post, but I gotta get it on here since it's almost been a month since we went.
Almost a year ago we bought tix to the Kenny Chesney, Zach Brown, and Billy Currington concert.  Since we bought the tickets so long ago, it almost seemed like we got in for free.  Until you arrived at the beer stand.  $9.  Ouch.
It's a good thing we tailgated like we were 21.

Beer Pong

Mr. K's lobster fondue.  Yes, please!

The one and only ICE.

We rocked the boys in flip cup.

But then we got cocky and lost.

Dave lathered some sunscreen

Kirk got stuck in a tent.

We headed in right after Uncle Kracker was done playing.  I was not paying $9 for a beer AND listening to someone, whose name sounds like a pedifile, sing.

We had pretty good seats.  In the shade.  Thank God.  It was like 105 outside.  Those poor people in the middle had to have been scorching!

Cheers!

At one point when we went inside to cool off and grab another cold one, Dave asked these nice boys to take a picture of us all.

Then he told them to get in the picture with Emily and I.  They looked at us, and looked at him and said 'we're in college.'  So exactly how old did they think we looked?!?!  I think it was his nice way of saying, 'they are cougars.'

I didn't realize until I looked at the picture the next day how young they really did look..

Cougars and Babies

I'm not sure the exact sequence of events that led to this next picture, but I'm sure it had something to do with us double fisting.

Those are Emily's legs over the old stranger in front of us. I think he liked it.

And I'm 100% sure the double fisting led to the last picture of the night...

My favorite part is that Emily doesn't even looked phased at Dave being pantless.

Note to self... never try to take a taxi home from a concert.  2 and a half hours later, we ended up walking to the highway.  Longest Night Ever.  At least I was with my favorite people!  I'm so excited for football season to be able to tailgate again!

Happy Monday!

So far today I've:
- gotten poured on three separate times b/c I don't have an umbrella
- scorched my mouth with coffee
- left my phone at home
- ran over Tony's new beer pong table with my car*

I should probably just go back to bed.  Hope your Monday is going better than mine!

*Tony if you're reading this... don't be mad.  I'll return it.

1, 2, 3, 4...get your booty on the floor.

Are you prepared for a super cheesy post?  Good.

Happy Anniversary to my hubs!  4 years from today was the best day of my life.  4 years, I know right?!  FOUR freaking years!  I can't believe it's been that long.  It seems like just yesterday we were walking down the isle to Baby Got Back and the pastor was calling Tony, Todd.  I should clarify... we did not choose to walk down the isle to Baby Got Back, but the people above our room chose to continue their afternoon reception during our ceremony which led to 'my anaconda don't want none unless you got. buns. hun.' to be playing coinciding with our big moment.  It's a good thing I wasn't a bridezilla, or someone's ass would have gotten kicked.

So back to my love bug of a husband.  I couldn't ask for a better partner in crime life.  He is truly my best friend and I'm so thankful he puts up with me.  Call me crazy, but I think the most important trait in a marriage besides Trust, is letting your significant other be themselves.  He lets me be me, and I'm so grateful for that.

Wanna know what we are doing for our anniversary?  Well, Tony's going on a bachelor party float trip.  Doesn't that sound so romantic?  I know, what a sweetie.  Kind of kidding, we are hitting up The Skies for dinner tonight and going to Mexico for Dave & Em's wedding next month.  We thought that was a better trip than having me ride in the back of the canoe on the float trip this weekend.  (you're welcome Heck.)

So last night we opened gifts.  Tony tried to get me to open mine on Monday.  What a spoil sport.  I wanted to wait until tonight, but he was evidently super antsy, so we opened them last night.  I got an awesome wine rack that holds 54 bottles of wine.  It's like my dream gift.  I love it!  Tony got a KSU beer pong table.  Do you see where our priorities are?  Booze & Booze.  I was so excited to give Tony this gift b/c I knew he really wanted one.  Well, it showed up at the door on Tuesday night... while I was at Whitesnake.  It was in a big box that said  KSU PONG TABLE.  Way to be discrete, Amazon.  So he had known what his present was on Tuesday, what a bum!

Here's some pictures from our wedding.  Remember, it was 4 years ago and the quality of copying them off of Facebook doesn't really make them crystal clear, but you get the point...

Adorable Flower Girls & Candlelighters

Ring bearer Kemper.  He is SO big now!!

Love you babe!  Can't wait to spend many many more years with you!  Muah!!!

Here I Go Again On My Own....

Random stuff happens to me, I'll admit it.
Sunday night Gina, Emily and I were down at P&L before the Sugarland concert (post on that and Em's bach party to come), eating at the Drunken Fish.  Which is wonderful, by the way.

As we are sipping on some vino, a group of guys with ponytails sits at the table next to us.  From the looks of their rock & roll appearance and remarkable amounts of accessories, it wasn't hard to figure out they were in a band.
One of them asked us what concert we were going to (our cowboy boots must have given it away).  We started talking back and forth and Gina says 'are you guys in a band?'  They laughed, and then she said 'are you guys famous?'.  They laughed again joking that they were super popular.  One of them said 'Whitesnake, we are probably too old for you girls.'  I laughed thinking, yea right you are not Whitesnake.  They are like were like BIG time.  They said they were playing at the Midland on Tuesday but had a couple of nights off.  So naturally, I discretely googled the Midland and looked at the schedule.
Tuesday August 9th:  Whitesnake.
Shut the front door!  They really are Whitesnake.  I played it cool and looked at Gina and Emily like, OMG, it really is them!  I really wanted to yell out 'OMG, it really IS you!!'  But I didn't.  And I'm impressed with myself, I'm normally completely inappropriate.
Before we left they said, you guys should come to our concert on Tuesday.  So we replied, ummm how do we get tickets?  Then their manager got Gin's number and we are attending Whitesnake tonight.
It was the most hilarious situation in the world.  I still laugh when I think about it.  'Here I go again' is like my favorite song EVER!
I'm sure our experience tonight will be more than blog worthy, so stay tuned....

Oh and we got a picture.  We are missing the original lead singer in this one, so maybe we'll be more lucky tonight :)

P.S. What in the hell do you wear to a Rock & Roll concert?  I'm trying to picture episodes of Bret Michael's Rock of Love, but I'm afraid I'm all out of leather pants, belly ring shirts, and hot pink glitter eye shadow..

Say A Little Prayer

Tony went to the Royals game last night and had pretty amazing seats behind the plate.  He was on TV all night.  I told him not to pick his nose.

Here's the text message I got from Erin.

Dear God, please let Callie be sober when I get home.
Amen.  Tony.

Howlin' @ The Moon

Hi friends.
I'm super behind on blogging some fun times, like my mom/brother's bday celebration, Kenny Chesney concert, and a few others.  We'll start in time sequence.
My mom & brother's bday.  My mom's bday was June 20th.  No, I'm not that far behind.  We didn't get to celebrate it until July 22nd because evidently summer is busy for everyone.  My brother's bday is July 28th, so we decided to combine them.
My mom loves loves loves piano bars, must be where I get that from.  So I got onto Howl @ The Moon & Ernie Biggs' websites and entered to win a happy hour.  I think everyone that enters wins, that would be the only reasoning for the fact I won one to both.  We decided at P&L we had less of a risk to get jumped by a gang, so I picked that one.

Birthday buds

We splurged a whole $6.00

We got there super early and it was packed!  Somehow we all squeezed into an area and held our ground.  The happy hour drink list was beer, margaritas, wine, and long island ice teas.  Keep in mind, Tony and I were leaving for GB to get his truck in the morning at 6:30 am.  Nevertheless, I was celebrating and decided on wine.  This would later kick me in the ass.  My mom, on the other hand, went with the Long Island.  Mom is usually just a beer drinker.  My dad looked at her and said 'have you ever had one of those before?'  My dad was a bartender in college so he knows that they consist of all liquor.  She laughed and said no, but she'd just have one.  The next thing I know... I'm still drinking wine, and my mom is still drinking long islands.  The look on my dad's face was hilarious every time my mom held up her empty glass and requested another.

Here are all the gals.  The gorgeous one in the pink dress is my cousin Bridget.  She is normally a blonde too, but had a lapse in judgement and decided to go dark.  She kept complaining as we were taking the picture that she didn't match everyone.

I blame her for my multiple glasses of wine.  She's in college and fun.  I tried to hang with her wine chugging.  I wanted to be cool.  Then she made me take a tequila shot, that she got for free by showing the bartender a picture of her car wreck.  Genious.

Brother!

Here's my grandma & grandpa and their daughters.  It took a few pics to finally get it right...

There we go!

Hubs & Bro

Bridget & Josh.  They will make pretty babies...some day.

Then things started to get crazy.  I made my mom take a jello syringe shot.  Bridget made her mom take one too.  Super sad I have no pictures of this.
Bridget grabbed these giant straws from behind the bar...

???

Father, Daughter

Dancing sisters.  Long Islands make you dance.

This is the last picture I took on my camera.  At least I was drinking a beer at this point.  I was relieved to see that.  However, the look on our faces might explain why I insisted that my parents take some lasagna with them when they dropped us off at home.

6:30 am rolled around wayyy to early for this girl, but it was totally worth it.  I woke up thinking I shouldn't be allowed out with my family on a regular basis.

Water Logged

Ever since Tony forced Margo into the lake with him, she's been addicted to water.
Last week when I picked her up from daycare, the guy was like 'she is really wet.'  I was thinking, oh no big deal, she probably had just jumped in the pool and right back out.  She's not a huge fan of water.  Then I saw her.  Wet, dripping, smelly, Marg.  Running full blast at me.  It made it better that I was in my work clothes.  And it was over my lunch break... and I didn't have a towel.  He went on to tell me that she's the only dog that gets in the pool and never gets out while they are outside.  I was surprised to hear that, but don't blame her, it's effing hot outside.

So last night, Tony was watering the yard and Marg needed to take a potty break.  Tony didn't think we should let her in the back b/c the sprinkler was on and she'd get wet and messy.  I told him she would be too scared to play with it.

I was wrong...

Bad Track Record

Happy Friday!!
It's no surprise that I've had a lot of issues with cars in the past.  It all started with Kitty.  My green Cougar I drove in high school and college.  She was purty.  Her hood got scrunched up a couple of times, the bumper drug along the street making a hidious nails on the chalk board sound, and Gina got my key stuck permanently in the ignition for a couple of years.  It was fine, I wasn't worried about anyone taking her.  They would have brought her right back.

Then the Jeep was passed down to me.  She never had a name, poor love bug.  We had some good times together, including a few road trips to Manhattan, Garden City and Bartlesville.  Then we started fighting.  It all started when Emily and I were headed down to the Plaza Art Fair 2 years ago.  She was all hot and bothered and started smoking.  We seriously thought she was going to blow up right then & there.  The next day my mom and I drove her to the shop, going about 40 mph. on the hwy and stopping every 2 min. to put water in her.  She was really never the same.  Then we went through the no A/C thing recently and she was put to rest last weekend.  Bless her sole.

So less than a week ago, I started driving Tony's Explorer.  I had high hopes for Dora and I.  We seemed to be getting along nicely.  This morning I went into the garage to find a note on my window from Tony.

'Check your work parking lot for the missing piece of the back of your car...'

Seriously?!  A chunk of the paneling on the back of the Explorer is now missing.  I swear I didn't hit anything.  This is why I will never own a new car.  They all hate me.  As for the missing piece of car... it wasn't in the parking lot.  I'm just hoping the rest of it can hold itself together.  I think we'll start going to counceling next week.

Stressed

I'm going through a million changes in my job and job location at the moment, so blogging might be on hiatus for awhile.  I'm about ready to pull all of my hair out.

Guess which glass of wine I'm choosing lately....

This Mess Is A Car

Tony is getting a truck this weekend, which means 2 things.  1.) I will be driving the Explorer* and 2.) I had to clean out my car.

For those of you that know me, you know this was a major event.  One of my downfalls, yes I have downfalls I know it's hard to believe, is that my car is like that junk room in your house where everything without a place ends up.

So last night I decided to tackle this project event.  Here's the before...

Trunk-o-mess
Some of my favorite items I found included, but are not limited to:
Loose hot tamales
Not one, but 3 bags of golf balls
7 mittens
1 slipper
A pair of bright pink leggings - Anyone want to claim these?
3 fleeces
Casserole dish
A purple plastic fork
Tony's wedding ring receipt from 4 years ago
and... 2 full cans of Miller Light

Don't worry, I threw them away... I can't imagine how terrible a  can of beer would taste after sitting through God knows how many summers and winters...

Tony told me I absolutely cannot let the Explorer get that out of control.  One time this spring we were with a group of people at Maloneys and it started to get really chilly outside.  I ended up providing 5 people with jackets to wear... from my trunk.  It's times like these where it's nice to have options.

Here's the aftermath.

Bye Jeep!  I'm kinda going to miss the feeling of not knowing whether you're going to start or not, have A/C or not, and that lovely sound you're brakes made.  The final test?  If she makes it all the way to GB or not for the trade.  Someone may be coming to tow us on Saturday, keep your phones handy.

*I'm taking applications for a name for the Explorer.  She's a sage green color.  My favorite so far is Dora.  Dora the Explora.
